Our Books

Established in 2015, Watersmead Books specialises in rare modern and contemporary books, manuscripts and works on paper:

• Classic English, Irish and American literature, especially signed and association copies and limited editions.
• The Art of the Book: private presses, fine bindings, artists’ books.
• Original illustrations and printings of exhibition quality.
• Twentieth century political history & Leadership.

Buying

Customers should contact us by phone or email or use the Contact form on our website to enquire about or order items. Payment is by bank credit (details of our bank account will be given upon selecting this option), PayPal, or via the Abe Books payment service. We do not process payments through our website. We regret that payment by credit card is not available if you deal with us direct.

Selling

We are always interested in acquiring material conforming to our main interests. Whole libraries are beyond our limitations, but you are welcome to offer us small collections and individual items in fine condition or with significant literary / artistic associations. We offer very competitive prices for suitable items and pay promptly. Use the Contact form on our website to provide details and a brief condition report of anything you have for sale, and we will be in touch quickly.

Shipping

All our items are ready for immediate dispatch. Each item will be packed securely using recyclable materials and fully insured while in transit. All shipping costs including insurance will be charged to the buyer at cost. Orders for international delivery may be subject to taxes and import duties beyond our control that are applied on delivery. The customer is responsible for any such charges.

Refunds

Customers may return any item for a full refund of the purchase price if found unsatisfactory for any reason, provided they notify us within seven days of receipt and that the item is then returned quickly and securely and in the condition it was received. It is recommended that a trackable, fully insured shipping service is used. Our business address is printed on our invoices and on our packaging. Customers will be responsible for paying for return shipping unless, and at our sole discretion, we find that the item has been mis-described.

Privacy Statement

Upon ordering, each customer’s name, address and other contact details (email, phone, etc) are recorded and, if specified, any collecting interests. Customers may ask to see these details and, if they wish, to have them deleted by notifying us in writing to our business address or by email. We do not sell, rent or trade users’ personal information to others.
